I have said it before and I will say it again: Fort Wilderness is one of the BEST resorts at Disney World for so many reasons! One of those reasons is that there SO much to do that doesn’t even involve setting foot in any of the four theme parks. Don’t believe me? Plan to stay an extra day or two (or three!) more than you have park tickets for next time, and give some of these activities a try! (You may even find you spend MORE valuable time with your friends and family you came with than you did at the parks!)

1. Go on a scavenger hunt (or create your own!)
2. Go “Looping” (aka, rent or bring a bike to ride around the “loops”)
3. Go Canoeing from the Bike Barn
4. Go cane pole fishing at the Meadows/Bike Barn (or take a guided fishing tour!)
5. Go playground hopping
6. Take a walk
7. Get a new vacation book (or magazine) from the Meadows or Settlement Trading Posts (and read it…)
8. Go swimmin’ (or splashin’!) at the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool (and Splash Pad!) or Wilderness Swimmin Pool (quiet pool)
9. Find the old Train Tracks (Ask a Cast Member for help!)
10. Make S’mores!
11. Watch a Movie at the Campfire
12. Meet Chip and Dale at the Sing-a-long
13. See the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue
14. Enjoy chicken bucket picnic with fixins from P&Jwilde Southern Takeout
15. Have a lazy breakfast (or dinner! but I prefer breakfast…) at Trail’s End Restaurant 
16. Make a memory bag or jar (collect your favorite rocks, leaves, pine cones, and more!)
17. Watch the Electrical Water Pageant on Bay Lake from the beach
18. Get a drink at Crockett’s Tavern
19. Play checkers at The Meadows (indoors!) or Settlement (outdoors!)
20. Decorate your camper/campsite/cabin/golf cart (it’s a pretty big deal around the holidays at FW!)
21. Play games or do arts and crafts during the pool activity times (see resort schedule)
22. Join in at the Meadows Jamboree Pool Party
23. Holiday Fun: Check the schedule for special holiday events (like golf cart parades!) for Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Halloween, Christmas and more!
24. Take archery lessons at the Bike Barn 
25. Play basketball (There are 6 different half courts with balls free to use in boxes at each)
26. Play tetherball (next to basketball courts)
27. Play tennis (free gear rental available to use from the Bike Barn)
28. Play shuffleboard (free gear rental available from the Bike Barn)
29. Take the Wilderness Back Trail Adventure Segway tour.
30. Rent a pontoon boat
31. Go tubing/wakeboarding/waterskiing/parasailing
32. Play arcade games (available at Pioneer Hall/Trail’s End and near Meadows Trading Post)
33. Take an evening wagon ride from Pioneer Hall
32. Take a trail ride on horseback (or pony ride for the little ones!)
33. Visit the horses, blacksmith and the Disney Calliope at Tri-Circle-D Ranch
34. Make a crockpot dinner (BYO crockpot….have your food delivered or bring it!)
35. Grill out (BYO charcoal and food!)
33. Take a photo safari around the resort and post to family at home
34. Listen to/watch the evening events at Magic Kingdom
35. Catch a boat to the Magic Kingdom and back (you don’t even have to get off!)
36. Go resort hopping to Wilderness Lodge and Contemporary via boat
37. Go animal “hunting” (how many different kinds of animals can you find…but obviously…don’t hurt them!)
38. Go for a golf-cart drive
39. Build your own campfire (enclosed campfires only – see a Cast Member for details)
40. Watch old (or new) short films and clips on Walt Disney World resort TV
41. Watch Stacy’s MUST-DOs on Walt Disney World resort TV
42. Enjoy early morning coffee (or late night beer) at the beach (or your own cabin/campsite)

48. Take Rover and/or Spot to the dog park
49. Take a private Carriage Ride (or Sleigh Ride during the holidays!)
50. Play the “Where Are You From?” game – ask other guests where they are from and try and find new friends from as many States or Countries as you can!

52. Walk or run on the Fort Wilderness Exercise Trail (goes all the way to Wilderness Lodge if you want!)

60. Visit the Sanctuary Butterfly Garden near the entrance to the Reception Outpost
61. Light saber fight, obviously. (BYO light sabers….or podisney ol noodles.)
62. Create your own map by exploring the resort (and finding treasure!)
63. Play board games outside (BYO or you can purchase some at the Trading Posts or theme parks)
